This is replacement Canon BG-E5 battery grip with Infrared Remote Controller, allows the Canon Rebel T1i / EOS 500D / Rebel XSi / EOS 450D / Rebel XS / EOS 1000D D-SLR camera's to be powered by two LP-E5 batteries simultaneously. It's very easy to use, just remove the installed Canon LP-E5 battery from your Canon digital camera and the battery door detaches. The BG-E5 battery grip plugs into the battery compartment and locks into place via the tripod socket screw. This equivalent to genuine Canon BG-E5 battery grip provides its own tripod adapter threads, so this functionality is not lost.
The Canon BG-E5 battery grip holds two Canon LP-E5 Batteries that deliver double the number of shots or video time from the Canon camera. Alternatively, use 6 AA batteries in the included replacement battery magazine.
The replacement BG-E5 battery grip provides controls and shutter release identical to the Canon camera's, including Shutter-Release, Main Dial, AF Point Selection, AF/FE Lock, And the power on/off button.
